Joined the EIBB in 2003	Started playing percussion in 1983
Grew up in Geneseo, IL
Earned his Bachelors of Science ( double major: Math & Computer Science) summa cum laude from Drake University (started working on his Masters Degree in Computer Science at Iowa State University, earned his Bachelors of Music Education from University of Illinois-Champaign, Urbana and is working on his Masters of Music Education from VanderCook College, Chicago, IL.
Currently Alan is the Mount Vernon Band Director.
	Alan says, "When I interviewed for the Mount Vernon HS Band Director job, they mentioned "By the way there is this group that meets in your band room Thursdays evenings and they might (MIGHT) ask you to join them".
Hobbies: Organizing things (strategic planning) Vice: Mountain Dew Played in the University of Illinois College Brass Band for 3 years 1997-1999. I've played in the Geneseo community band (The Maple City Band) every year since summer of 1986 and have been the director since summer of 2007.
